There’s a change of venue for Mom’s No Chaos Zone’s Thursday Challenge this week! This Challenge is just for my homeschooling readers. To participate, leave a comment to this post telling me your top three favorite things about homeschooling! The school year is coming to a close and it’s easy to get tired. Thinking of your favorite things will help you finish strong!

Imagine a homeschool conference that doesn’t involve travel, packed parking lots, having to find someone to watch the kids, having to choose between workshops, buying workshop audios you want to listen to again, or crowds. (I happen to like the homeschooler mob experience but not everyone does.<g>) Participants also get a virtual goodie bag with all sorts of great free stuff from speakers, including me!

The top 3 things I love about homeschooling:
1. Just having the time with my kids. Every once in a while I’ll be reminded of what it could be like if they were gone 8 hours a day, and I am just so grateful to be with them each day.
2. I tremendously enjoy learning along with my kids. I am getting a much better education now, especially in history and Bible, than I got in public school oh so many years ago
3. The flexibility of our schedule is great. We just got back from visiting family out of state. It’s so nice not to have to follow someone else’s schedule.

My three favorite things about homeschooling:
1. Keeping my kids with me.
2. Getting to know them through and through and being close enough to ‘be on the same team’ rather than ‘the opposition’ as often is the case during the teen years.
3. Being able to enjoy the fruit of my labors seeing them to grow up to be mature, compassionate believers who serve others rather than just themselves.

My three favorite things about homeschooling, hmmm, that is a hard one. I have so many favorite things about homeschooling!!
1. I get to spend lots of time with my children.
2. We learn many things together, like raising chickens, caring for bees, having a garden, etc.
3. Watching my children grow and learn, sometimes growing and learning right along with them.
Three things I love about homeschooling are the excitement of starting a new school year, the accomplishment of finishing another school year, and getting to spend time with my kids all year long!
Three things that I love about homeschooling are:
1. My children are able to have serious conversations with adults;
2. We are able to study and learn and grow together;
3. My children see that education is a way of life and that you can continue to learn throughout your life.
Homeschooling favorites:
1. Time together;
2. We are led by interests; not academics.
3. The privilege of watching their every step…
Things I love about homeschooling:
1. Just being with my kids. When they were in public school, it seemed like my time with them was so rushed it was hard to get any quality time with them.
2. Teaching them life skills. Like cooking etc.
3. Not having to get up at 6am.
